7 night tour of Translyvania:
Day 1 - Arrive in Bucharest and enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city taking in all the important highlights such as the Unification square and Arch of Triumph. Spend the evening strolling in the medieval old town and enjoy a delicious traditional dinner.
Day 2 - Bucharest - Cozia - Sibiu. Scenic drive to Cozia where you will discover an Orthodox Monastery with a history of more than 600 years. Travel on to Sibiu and check in to your hotel for 2 nights and dinner at the hotel.
Day 3 - Enjoy a walking tour in Sibiu, the largest and wealthiest walled citadel built in Translyvania in the 12th Century by the German settlers. Enjoy time at lesiure in the Old town visiting The Grand Square, the Liar's Bridge and the impressive Evangelical Cathedral. Spend the evening in Sibiel, where you will be welcomed by the traditional riders and meet one of the local families for a home cooked dinner with lots of wine and brandy!
Day 4 - Sibiu - Medias - Biertan - Sighisoara. Enjoy a scenic drive through idyllic Translyvanian landscapes and medieval villages. Stop in the medieval town of Medias and visit the gothic style castle church St. Margaret from the 16th Century. Continue to the village of Biertan where you will discover one of the best preserved medieval fortifications in Transylvania. Built in 1500 on the foundations of a previous Romanesque building, the fortification features three mighty ring walls, two outer baileys and several defence towers. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Drive further to Sighisoara and check into your hotel for 2 nights and dinner at the hotel.
Day 5 - Drive this morning to the village of Viscri, where the Prince of Wales owns a traditional Saxon house. Tour the village in a traditional horse drawn carriage and enjoy lunch with the locals. In the afternoon, discover Sighisoara, the medieval citadel, where Vlad the Impaler took his first steps. Enjoy a pleasant walking tour inside the citadel exploring the main attractions whilst enjoying the taste of 4 different brandies in a local wine cellar. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 6 - After breakfast depart towards Bran - where you will discover the Dracula Castle. Transfer to Brasov and enjoy lunch in the old town. The afternoon begins with a walking tour starting from the Council Square. One of the main highlights of the city is the Black Church, Romania's leading gothic church. On the tour you will also see the narrowest street in Europe: The Rope Street. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 7 - Poiana Brasov - Sinaia - Bucharest. Today we drive to Sinaia and visit Peles Castle, considered one of the most stunning castles in Europe. We also visit the Sinaia Monastery. Lunch in a local restaurant. Time at leisure in the afternoon to continue discovering this beautiful region and then continue to Bucharest where you can enjoy time at leisure until dinner at the hotel.
Day 8 - Breakfast and transfer to airport.
