You will learn to cook delicious local specialities, gain a fascinating insight into traditional village life, and uncover the rich history and beautiful, unspoilt nature of this un-commercialised region. North Cyprus offers the perfect opportunity to slow down and escape from the stresses and strains of the 21st century. Enjoy stunning mountain scenery and pristine beaches, charming villages, ancient palaces and dramatic, ruined abbeys.

You will enjoy a warm welcome at the charming Lapida Hotel, which is run by the enthusiastic owner, Fethi, and his family. Fethi is a local expert on the history and wildlife of the pretty seaside village of Lapta, where the hotel is situated. His mother is in charge of providing delicious home-cooked food for the hotel guests and is more than happy to share her culinary tips and secrets. The Lapida enjoys lovely gardens, bursting with vibrant flowers, where guests can relax and soak up the sun or read in the shade. The Lapida has an outdoor swimming pool, surrounded by sunbathing terraces.

The price includes: return scheduled flights from London, Manchester or Birmingham, taxes, transfers, all touring and excursions as per itinerary and seven nights half-board hotel accommodation. Supplements may apply depending on the available flight costs for desired departure dates. Tour Itinerary

Day 1


Fly to North Cyprus and transfer to the Lapida hotel, a charming property with just 15 rooms.

Day 2


Half day guided tour of Bellapais Abbey & ancient Kyrenia admiring the historic harbour and castle. Lunch at leisure.

Day 3


A morning walking tour of Lambousa and its historical sites followed by a visit to Lapta village, its historical houses & churches. Return to the hotel for your first cooking demonstration where you will learn how to make local speciality borek (a kind of pie) made of Hallumi cheese, Tahini, mince lamb meat and herbs & Ricotta. You will then make simple dish Macaroni gratin and enjoy your late lunch with what you cooked today. (Alcoholic drinks will be charged as extra.

Day 4


Day at leisure to enjoy the poolside/garden at Lapida or go for countryside walks or shop in Kyrenia.

Day 5


A scenic drive into the mountains where you will walk and pick fresh herbs. Return to the hotel to start your 2nd cooking demonstration: Humus, Aubergine saute, Potato salad Turkish Cypriot style, Cacik, Lemon squash & local sweet making in the company of a local expert. Enjoy all after the lesson.

Day 6


Morning at leisure followed by a local cookery lesson in the afternoon. Today you will learn to make Dolma (stuffed wine leaves), Lentil and chicken soup, tahini & yougurt meze and Herse (a special meze prepared generally for traditional weddings) as well as cheese & olive bread making.

Day 7


A full day coastal tour of North Western Cyprus visiting local villages and one specific Maronite Village, see some orchids and wild flowers (Jan - April) then lunch at a traditional local restaurant. You will have chance to swim in natural bays depending on the temperatures.

Day 8


Transfer to the airport for your return flight home or stay additional nights for a longer duration.
